Pack your business cards (and comfortable shoes) for Essence Fest. The Fest is an opportunity to vacation and make worthwhile connections. You never know who you’ll meet along the way.
1. The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency will be available. MBDA is the only Federal agency dedicated to the growth and global competitiveness of U.S.minority-owned businesses. National Director, Alejandra Y. Castillo will be at the “Money & Power” Expo. Check out the Entrepreneurship Village too.
2. Connect with people from your state while you’re out of state. All it takes is the right moment, follower or follow through to change the game where you live. If you’re at Essence Fest, it’s highly likely there is someone from your hometown too.
3. Take Notes. Check out the Empowerment Stage for talks from Ava DuVernay, Melissa Harris-Perry, Maya Harris, Misty Copeland and more.
