1) One App Deadline – The spring deadline for applications for schools in Orleans Parish, including scholarship schools, is February 28th, and parents should expect notification of school choices the week of April 7th.  The Annual School Expo will be held on February 1, 2014 at the Louisiana Superdome. 2)Public Education Day at the CapitolOPEN will make its annual voyage to the capital to interface with policymakers at BESE and the legislature. Key focus issues will be Early Childhood, High School and Monitoring. New riders are welcomed. Final details will be available at www.opennola.org

3)Join the Movement of Powerful Parent VoicesA child’s greatest advocate is his/her parent. Apply to The New Orleans Parent Leadership Training Institute. PLTI brings parents voices to the forefront of education policy deliberation, debate and decision-making. In 2014, the program will train its third cohort.
